Spinner Interference Absorbers

Spinner Interference Absorbers
When planning an in-building communication system or DAS, you frequently find yourself in the situation where the antenna has to be placed near a metal structure or surfaces. This especially occurs when the indoor system is part of renovation works, on board of a ship or train.

From an RF perspective, putting an antenna close to metallic structures is not ideal because it greatly impacts the performance of that antenna. As a cause, the reception goes down and we find ourselves with a system that is not up to the best possible standards.

For those ocasions where an indoor planner has no other choice than to place that antenna close to metal cable conduits or walls, we usually recommend the use of omnidirectional antennas. However, if from a design perspective the shape and build of these antennas are not an option, SPINNER has a solution.

The interference absorber basically is an atennuator that can be placed between the mounting surface and antenna. It absorbs the signals that are reflected by metal objectis in the proximity of the antenna and mainly improves the VSWR. This makes sure that the antenna specifciations mentioned on the datasheet are met again and ensures normal operation.

The SPINNER interference absorbers are only made for omni-chip antennas with a diameter of 218 mm, 220 mm and 266 mm. They are precisely fitting and well-formed. Their simple and quick installation on the ceiling is done before the installation of the actual antenna with the help of the included mounting material (3 screws and 3 dowels).
