Spectrum Control SAW Dispersive Delay Lines by Heynen

Spectrum Control SAW Dispersive Delay Lines by Heynen
Dispersive delay lines historically evolved as matched filters for linear fm waveforms in military radar pulse expansion and compression systems. Today, with Spectrum Control (formerly known as APItech)’s SAW and IMCON technology, a large range of parameters are available which make possible new approaches to signal processing. In addition to expanding the performance of Spectrum Control's dispersive delay lines provide new capabilities in spectrum analysis, variable delay systems and adaptive bandpass filtering systems. Because of the low cost high volume production benefits of the SAW technology, dispersive delay lines are now available at costs compatible with commercial solid state radars.

Spectrum Control's line of non-dispersive and dispersive SAW Delay Lines offer semi-standard or custom designs with various delay and bandwidth options. SAW Delay Lines are available in several packaging options such as ceramic leadless chip carriers, which provide small size and weight, and platform packages, which are suited for harsh applications. Spectrum Control has experience with delay lines on various substrates including quartz, lithium tantalate and lithium niobate. All SAW Delay Lines are hermetically sealed to ensure robust performance.

Common applications of SAW Delay Lines include Radar Systems, Electronic Warfare, Communication systems and Collision Avoidance.
