Mentor light guides in Berker's Illuminated switch series
The long-established company Berker makes high-quality switches and building automation – from classic, timeless designs to contemporary, state-of-the-art models. The company, which is part of the Hager Group, has integrated frame and switch lighting in several series of switches in the premium segment in collaboration with MENTOR: Berker is presenting four design lines in the best possible light.
Four different design lines – frames and rotary switches in the R.classic, 1930, Glass and Q7 series – have been equipped with individually configured lighting solutions from MENTOR. The integrated lighting solution produces an individual effect depending on the material chosen and sets additional accents.
Guiding light and status indicator
To perfectly illuminate the various switch series, a customised light guide is used, producing a delicate light strip in either cool or warm white. The integrated lighting serves both as a guide and a status indicator, while simultaneously creating an atmospheric (home) ambience with a homogeneous light pattern. The status light indicates whether, for example, an outer socket is switched on or off or whether a room that is not directly visible is illuminated or not, while the optional guide light makes finding your way around in the dark effortless. The guide light can be switched off if required using a slide switch on the LED module. The LED modules, which have been specially developed for Berker’s switch series, can be retrofitted into almost all switch inserts.
Design classic in a new guise
The 1930 series rotary switch has been equipped with an LED module that can easily retrofitted to almost any rotary switch.
