Isa-Weld precision power resistors

Isa-Weld precision power resistors

The power and precision resistors of the patented ISA-WELD® procedure consist of solid, electron-beam-welded composite material made of copper and one of our resistance alloys.

The composite material is continuously welded to the strip in a vacuum by means of electron beam and without material addition, whereby the strips are cleaned during the infeed into the machine and the flanks are freshly machined. In this way, impurities or oxides are avoided in the weld seam and physically or metallurgically very different materials are welded fault-free and in a cost-optimized manner.

These shunts are used in applications where you need to measure high currents. Here, low loss and rapid heat dissipation are crucial. These series are increasingly used in DC applications with high currents like battery Management Systems, Electrical Vehicles, tools, and electronic energy meters (DC).
In the overview, you will find not only SMD resistors but also types that can be directly mounted onto a Bus Bar. New in this regard are increasingly available options with a connector on the shunt, allowing you to directly connect the measuring electronics.

For questions regarding these resistors in your application, you can contact our experts below.
