Ferncast, developer of innovative audio transmission software solutions for professional live audio applications is thrilled to announce that the Mini, part of its new product class, the Audio Codec Servers won the RedTech Best in Show Award at the IBC Convention 2022 in Amsterdam.
Judged by a panel of industry experts, the RedTech Awards are designed to highlight signifi-cant technological innovation within the radio and digital audio space. Nominees were eval-uated based on market relevance, design, business and operational benefits, innovation, technical excellence, and cost-effectiveness.
Ferncast has launched in June 2022 the Mini Audio Codec Server powered by aixtream software which has power for multiple audio use cases and is intended for 7 fields of application: OTT online streaming, SIP communication, Studio Transmitter Links, Audio on Demand, DVB multiplexing, Loudness control and Transcoding. The Mini is small enough to be easily transported and installed anywhere, but still allows up to 10 mono, stereo or multichannel programs.
The Mini is part of the new product class developed by Ferncast: The Audio Codec Servers (ACS), powered by aixtream COMPACT software. They combine the flexibility and full scalability of server installation with the convenience of traditional hardware boxes. This offers customers, from small studios to public broadcasters, a never-before-seen level of customizability for their audio transmission and recording.
'The RedTech Best in Show Award is a great reward for the efforts we put into the Mini and aixtream COMPACT in terms of development and marketing.' said Detlef Wiese, Ferncast CEO and founder. 'The Mini, as the smallest product of our Audio Codec Server family demonstrates the power of scalability of aixtream software running on small machines and going up to huge installations with hundreds of channels, so called pipes. The Mini can al-ready cover up to 10 pipes and therefore is a great starting point for lower budget applica-tions.'
Key features of the Mini include:
- Power for multiple audio applications
- Application can be expanded after initial purchase with expansion packages.
- AES67 input + other inputs via USB (analog, AES/EBU, MADI, Dante)
