Today we all want to stay connected. This means that the systems we rely on for our communication have to be available at all times, especially when we are talking about critical communication systems like C2000 or ASTRID. Whether you are installing or in charge of maintaining such a system, you want to make sure that everything is in place. The Bird SiteHawk Cable & Antenna Analyzer can help you do so.
For those who are working on GMS-R or other railway communication, Bird developed the Bird RailHawk. If you have to maintain the communication systems on board of an aircraft, have a look at the Bird FlightHawk.
No more 'Swapnostics'
The Bird SK-4500-TC or SK-6000-TC will point you straight towards the source of your failing RF system. This ensures that field staff and engineers will not have to spend time swapping out components to resolve the issue and can save a lot of work and time.
Analyze, save and share
One of the many useful functionalities of the Bird SiteHawk is the fact that after analysis or installation, the engineer has an option to save the measurements and easily share them over email, Bluetooth or WiFi. This data can be stored in the company administration and used for future reference during (preventive) maintenance.
Ease-of-use
The SiteHawk is a portable handheld device that is perfectly suited for use in the field thanks to its strong build and low weight (approximately 1 kg). The fact that it is based on Android architecture it is easy to use, even for first-time users and those who are not as familiar with the fundamentals of RF.
Optional Power Meter
It is possible to use the SiteHawk not only as an analyzer, but also as a power meter. The only thing it requires is one of Bird power sensors (such as the 7020 series). A separate power meter such as the Bird 43 would no longer need to be part of the standard set of tools of your engineers.
Features
Test RF cables and antennas at the frequency of operation.
Locate RF cable, connector and antenna problems at the source.
FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry) measurement method results in a highly reliable assessment of the health of critical components in your system; ultimately providing a “heads-up” before a failure occurs.
Fault location or DTF mode plots VSWR or Return Loss levels at each distance point along the cable and antenna system length.
Cable Loss function measures insertion loss of the cable system over a given frequency range.
OTG USB communication port for connection to Bird power sensors, storage devices and battery charging
For more information I would like to refer to the video tutorials, datasheet and operation manual below. Alternatively on of our product specialists can answer your questions or do a (live) demonstration.
Applications
Suitable for use in Worldwide Cellular and PCS/DCS systems; supporting measurement of CDMA-, GSM-, LTE-protocols. Other applications include 5G, Broadcast, Government, Tactical Military, Microwave, Paging, Public Safety, Trunking, WLAN, and TETRA, Land Mobile Radio and Private Mobile Radio.
